Spiritual Quotes, Spirituality Information
 For the Spiritual Investor

Spiritual leaders from all traditions say that for spiritual progress we must earn our income from activities that are deemed 'life-benefiting,' and perhaps even more importantly, that we gain higher spiritual consciousness.

Gaining heightened spiritual consciousness is the most powerful 'tool' we have to foresee developments in this dawning era. It expands our consciousness, provides greater comprehensiveness of thinking and more peace of mind -- which behavioral researchers say is the most important trait for successful investing. It also brings us inner bliss and the ability to be closer to God. Such experiences are critical for our investing success, especially at this time.

The following spiritual sayings and quotes from spiritual leaders illustrate these points.

Christianity
  • “God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” The Epistle of Paul the Apostle Gal. 6

  • Christ said, “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” St Matthew 6:33 from Oxford Dictionary of Quotations, p.89, 1992 New Edition.

  • St. Augustine. “Happiness consists in the attainment of our desires, and in having only right desires.”

  • Apostle Paul. “The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life.” The Epistle of Paul the Apostle of the Romans 6:23, Bartlett's Familiar Quotations, p. 41.

Judaism

  • "But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth." Deuteronomy 8:18

Islam

  • From the Qu’an. “Those who believe and do righteous deeds, they are the best of creatures. Their reward is with the Lord: Gardens of Paradise beneath which rivers flow. They will dwell therein forever…” Qu'an (88:7-8)

Buddhism

  • Bodhidarma. "If as in a dream, you see a light brighter than the sun, your remaining attachments will suddenly come to an end and the nature of reality will be revealed. Such an occurrence serves as the basis of enlightenment. But this is something only you know. You can't explain it to others." Mysticism in World Religions, Deb Platt

Vedic Tradition

  • "Happiness, the reward of merit, follows in the wake of righteousness." Ramayana

  • Shankara. "A man is said to be free even in this life when he is established in illumination. His Bliss is unending. For him the sorrows of this world are over. Though he possesses a finite body, he remains united with the infinite." Shankara's Crest Jewel of Illumination translated by Swami Prabhavananda and Christopher Isherwood, p. 105

  • Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. "With the practice of deep meditation (Transcendental Meditation) the mind contacts the Bliss Consciousness of the Spirit and becomes more peaceful, happy, creative and powerful. This state of mind enriches all values of material life." Meditations of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Bantum p. 164/5
